They've made it. Well, almost.
This week marks the last school week for all EGHS seniors. By noon of next Thursday, seniors will have finished their finals, finally done with high school. As a lowly sophomore, I can only look on in jealousy. Seniors get to look forward to Block Island, breakfasts, and graduation rehearsals. I get to look forward to chem tests, math tests, english portfolios, spanish presentations, and history projects. I know. Everybody's jealous. (Sorry. My whining ends now. I promise.)
I think at this point in the year, everybody can't help but look back. I've already started looking at old pictures for my english portfolio and it makes me think of how everything was 10 years ago. I would wait at the bus stop with my friends from the neighborhood and our parents would talk in the corner while they waited with us. I would come home from school with no homework and play outside for a while. It made me think of how little my brother and I used to be. Now, he's a senior and graduating very soon. He's going to college next year. It's funny how I never thought of college as a big step until graduation started rapidly approaching.

I think it's this point in the year when all sophomores realize that the next two years aren't going to be an easy ride. We have SATs, ACTs, AP classes, extracurriculars, and our social lives to balance. I think I'm getting gray hair just thinking about it.
It's at that point when I shake my thoughts off and realize that I just need to take it as it comes. So right now, you'll probably find me trying to make a dent in the huge amount of homework piling up in my room while listening to copious amounts of music. Like I said, everybody's jealous. I know. :P

To all seniors- congratulations! You're almost there!
