The East Greenwich Art Club will have its Annual Member Exhibit at Cranston Central Library, 140 Sockanosset Cross Rd, Cranston, RI, from August 29th to September 25th. It is free and open to the public during the library’s hours. There will be a reception with an award presentation and light refreshments September 12th, from 1:30-3:00 PM.

United Methodist Church in East Greenwich

On Tuesday, September 1st, the East Greenwich Art Club will meet from 7-9 PM, at United Methodist Church, 1558 South County Trail, East Greenwich. The meeting is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. After a brief meeting, local artist, Alissa O’Brien, will present a program, titled: “Creating the Art of Nature”. She uses a wood burning technique called pyrography to create art on wood, paying attention to things in nature that are overlooked. O’Brien graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Natural Science Illustration.

40th ANNUAL “3-Day” CRANSTON GREEK FESTIVAL SEPTEMBER 11th, 12th and 13th
Location: Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation on the parish grounds
175 Oaklawn Avenue, Route 5, Cranston, RI. 
The Cranston Greek Festival, marks the “Official End of Summer in Rhode Island™”.
The Festival is held under the “Big Tents”, rain or shine.
Admission is FREE.
2026 GREEK FESTIVAL TIMES:
 Friday, September 11 5 PM – 10 PM
 Saturday, September 12 12 Noon – 10 PM
 Sunday, September 13 12 Noon – 8 PM
 
Greek Food: 
Guests sample a wide variety of Greek food including roast lamb, Greek-style chicken, souvlaki (skewered pork or chicken), pastitsio (delectable “Greek Lasagna”), spanakopita (“spinach pie”) tiropita (“cheese pie”). 
 
Many of our guests tell us we serve Rhode Island’s Best GYROS. Come and judge for yourself! 
 
Our pastry booth offers hand-made Greek pastries prepared by teams of our own parishioners, including our famous Baklava, Galaktoboureko and Rice Pudding. 
 
The pastry selection also includes karidopita (Greek Walnut Cake), kourabiedes (Wedding Cookies), koulourakia (Greek Butter Cookies), and melomakarona (Honey Cookies). 
 
And don’t forget to try our Loukoumades!!! 
Loukoumádes (λουκουμάδες) is a staple of Greek eating, especially in the south of Greece, and is a popular street food served with a combination of honey, cinnamon, and walnuts.

Entertainment &amp; Culture:
Greek Dancing Performances by Odyssey Dance Troupe 
Friday Night – 7 PM 
Saturday - 4 PM and 7 PM 
Sunday Afternoon – 3 PM &amp; 6 PM
These performances are wildly popular, and feature dances from mainland Greece and the Greek Islands. 
Live Greek musicwill be performed throughout the event. 
Spontaneous, impromptu Greek Dancing breaks out constantly during the entire 3-Day, Cranston Greek Festival. 
Everyone is invited to join in these dances.

Free parking is available on the neighborhood streets.
Additional parking is available at Cranston West High School. 
Free Parking shuttle buses run continuously, from Cranston West High School VIA CURTIS STREET.Some handicapped parking is available on the church grounds. 
The parking lot shuttle buses run all three days of the Festival, until 30 minutes AFTER CLOSING, each day.

“Crafting for Critters” Fall Bazaar Helps Homeless Animals

On Saturday, September 12, 2026, visit the 13th Annual “Crafting for Critters” Fall Bazaar from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Airport Professional Park, 2348 Post Road, Warwick, RI. 

Hosted by Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter, more than 60 local artisans will be selling their handcrafted items. Start your holiday shopping now! Browse fine art, jewelry, crafts, handcrafted accessories, home decor and garden items, apparel, baked goods, candies, jams &amp; jellies, dog treats and pet accessories, books and more in an easy-to-navigate outdoor space. everything is made by the &nbsp;exhibitor (no 3rd party or resellers). Admission and parking are free. Food trucks will be on the premises. Donations of wet dog and cat food for the shelter animals are always welcome but not required.

Following a series of surgeries and recoveries, along with the loss of my longtime administrative coordinator and dear friend, Richard Bump, I found myself at a point of reflection and transition. I made the decision to redirect my career from salon ownership toward something that has always been at the center of who I am: continuing to cultivate my craft as a Hair Artist and educator. As I return to Main Street, my intention is simple: to reconnect with the skills, creativity, and level of care that built my reputation over decades, while offering you the opportunity to reimagine the experience and quality I can bring to your sense of style. I have always taken pride in helping clients leave with a greater understanding of their hair than when they first sat in my chair. Hair has never simply been about appearance; it has always been about connection, education, and trust. After years of experience, one thing remains unchanged: every service begins with a pair of ears before a pair of shears. Life has brought its share of challenges over recent years — personal loss, physical setbacks, and significant change. Those experiences have reshaped me, but they have also clarified something important: I am returning to the place where I truly belong.
