Fundraising Calls for EGPD DARE Program are Fake, Police Say

Several residents have reported to East Greenwich Police that they’ve gotten solicitation phone calls from a comapny claiming to be collecting money for the EGPD DARE program.

Here’s the catch. There is no such program.

“We are not involved in any fundraising at this time, nor do we have a DARE Program,” police said in a post on their Facebook page.

“Residents are encourage not to donate. Anyone who receives further calls for donations is asked to call East Greenwich Police at 401-884-2244.,” the message said.
