Dancing for a good Cause at Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Warwick

Dancing for a good time we all have heard of, but for a good cause- that's something else!

Last Saturday, October 18th, the Quinta Gamelin Community Center in Bristol was transformed into a beautiful ballroom and the local contestants that had been working for months to prepare were sequined, tanned and ready to compete for the mirror ball trophy.
The hall was packed to the seams, over 200 spectators and supporters came out to cheer on their favorite star and support the assisted living in Franklin. Tickets were $40 a person and the audience was encouraged to “vote” for their favorite star for $5 a vote.
Thousands of dollars and many dance numbers later the event turned out to be a spectacular success as a fundraiser and extremely entertaining for the supporters.
Angela Cabral and her instructor Rogelio Garcia danced a ChaCha as their solo routine. The dips, drops and spins were greeted with cheering and applause and it was this performance in combination with Angelas votes that had the duo claim the Mirror Ball trophy of the night their own.
