"Dog Day Afternoon" on Sunday Benefits EGAPL
The TownePlace Suites by Marriott in North Kingstown is the place to be for BBQ, games, prizes and lots of four-legged guests.

The East Greenwich Animal Protection League has been working on borrowed time. Their headquarters is up for sale and they can hang on for only so long.
Always in need of donations and support, the folks at EGAPL are working double overtime to raise money for a new home. The latest effort is this Sunday at the TownePlace Suites by Marriot in North Kingstown, where there will be BBQ, food, games, raffles and prizes and all proceeds going directly to the league.
Lucy Metz, sales manager for TownePlace Suites by Marriott, said that they wanted to “do something to raise whatever funds we could to help them in their plight.”

The fundraiser, Aug. 16 from 1 to 5 p.m., isn’t expected to fully finance a new facility for EAGPL, but every little bit helps. They launched a capital campaign earlier this year with a goal of finding a forever home.
The event is located at 55 Gate Road in North Kingstown. See the attached flyer for details.
