Earth Day Cleanup Planned Saturday in Scalloptown Park

The cleanup is possible in part thanks to a $250 grant from the state.

East Greenwich residents are invited to help clean up Scalloptown Park on Saturday to celebrate Earth Day — and to make one of the town’s recreational assets more beautiful (if that’s even possible.)

The Main Street Association of East Greenwich is organizing the event and was buoyed by a $250 grant from the state Department of Environmental Management.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon and the cleanup will be based in the park and the waterfront. The event is open to everyone, though children should have a parent accompanying them.
