East Greenwich High Wall Of Honor: 2018 Class
The ceremony will be held in April. The date is to be announced.

EAST GREENWICH, RI - From East Greenwich High School: By Bruce Mastracchio. The East Greenwich High School Wall of Honor Committee has selected the people to be honored for "The Wall" in the Class of 2018. Those to be honored are: John Chandler, Class of 1966; Diane McDonald, Class of 1969; Dr. Bernice Pescosolido, Class of 1970; Guy Asadorian, Class of 1982 and Matt Plain, Class of 1994.
The Committee selects the next year's class in the preceding summer and fall so announcements can be made and those coming from out of state will have enough time to schedule their travel, notify family and friends , and make arrangements, if need be, for their stay.
The ceremony is held in April, traditionally either the week before, or, the week after, spring break.

Chandler, was a multi-sport athlete at EG and was a good student. He went on to Providence College, where he was a Club Football All-American as a punter. He went to Price Waterhouse as a software developer and worked for various other corporations such as AIG and Scripto before forming his own companies, which were very successful. He returned to college and received a Juris Doctorate in 1978.
Diane McDonald has been involved with horses all her life as a rider, competitor, owner, trainer and teacher. She owns and runs Dapper Dan farm on Ives Road. She graduated from the Potomac Horse Center with a British Horsemaster's Degree. She has won numerous competition awards, has been named Professional Business Woman of the Year, has been President of the Rhode Island Horseman's Association and is on the New England Horseman's Council Board of Director's.

Dr.Bernice Pescosolido is a Distinguished Professor of Sociology at the University of Indiana. She is the Director of the Indiana Consortium for Mental Health Services Research and, is Co-Director of the Indiana University Network Science Institute. She is a standout in her field, winning many awards and being given many grants for her research. In 2005 she was presented with the American Sociological Association's Leo G. Reeder Award for a career of distinguished scholarship in medical sociology.
Guy Asadorian played 3 sports and maintained his academics at an honor roll level. He went to college and received a degree in economics and finance and also played football and baseball. Besides being successful in business, Guy is very active in his community and has volunteered as a youth coach, for Town Boards,and the Quonset revitalization Project. He is also one of the movers behind the rebirth of the East Greenwich Athletic Hall of Fame.
Matt Plain is another three sport athlete, who also stood out in the classroom. Graduating from UNC he taught for awhile before going to Law School, where he graduated 5th in his class. He has published numerous school and law policy article and is on the Advisory Board and the Adjunct Faculty at Roger Williams University. Recently elected to the East Greenwich School Committee, Matt brings loads of experience as a former teacher, and attorney serving public and private schools throughout Rhode Island.
The Wall of Honor ceremony will be held at East Greenwich High School in April ( date to be announced early in 2018 ). The ceremony usually lasts an hour and a half and is followed by a free collation in the school cafeteria. It is hoped that family, friends, schoolmates, teammates and colleagues of the above named honorees will attend this uniquely small town gathering.
