East Greenwich Police Officer Charged With Domestic Assault
Mark Edmonds, of Pawtucket, was arrested after a female victim reported that he assaulted her on May 31.
EAST GREENWICH, RI — An East Greenwich police officer was charged with several counts of domestic assault over the weekend. Mark A. Edmonds, Jr, 25, was arrested at his Pawtucket home on Saturday after a female victim reported that he assaulted her the day before.
According to Pawtucket Police, the victim reported numerous other assaults between last September and early April of this year. Edmands was interviewed by officers at the Pawtucket police station and then charged with several counts of "domestic offenses." Police did not release the exact charges.
Edmonds was arraigned by a bail commissioner on Sunday and released after being ordered not to have any contact with the victim. He is scheduled to appear in Providence District Court on Thursday morning.
