Local Student Artists Win Recognition

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI —Eleven Bay View Academy middle and upper School students earned Gold and Silver Keys in the Scholastic Art Awards competition. They were honored at an awards ceremony on Jan. 15 at Rhode Island College.

An exhibition of Gold and Silver Key award winning artwork was on display at The Chazan Family Gallery at Alex & Ani Hall at Rhode Island College, from Jan. 20 through Feb. 1. Bay View Academy opened an exhibit of student’s Scholastic Art Award-winning work in its gallery this week.

Olivia Granatiero, a sophomore from East Greenwich, earned a Gold Key for jewelry.

“Art,” she says, “has always been my passion, so making the jewelry piece was an amazing experience and it was an honor to be chosen."
