EG Field Hockey Moves Into Semifinals With 3-0 Win Over Lincoln

All three goals were scored in a four-minute blitz that started about 20 minutes into the first half.

All the scoring action in EG's Wednesday night quarterfinal game against Lincoln took place in the first half, when the Avengers scored three times in just over four minutes. The damage was done; EG earned the victory with a 3-0 score and will meet Moses Brown in the semi-finals on Sunday.

Lincoln, which had just lost to EG last week, came out looking strong, pushing stronger on offense than the Avengers during the first 10 minutes of play. But EG found its footing and moved the play down toward the Lincoln goal. Then the Avengers' sticks just heated up. Goals were scored by Mareille Kraft, Katie Sloat and Emily Karn, with assists by Keri Pallister, Marielle Kraft and Jamie Fugere.

The defending state champions must beat Moses Brown on Sunday if it wants a chance for a repeat. That game will be played at Cranston Stadium at 2 p.m.
