EG Man Charged with DUI after Crashing into Fire Truck
Police said he crashed head-on into a fire engine and later registered a .27 blood alcohol reading.

A 32-year-old East Greenwich man was charged with driving under the influence after he allegedly crashed into a fire truck at the intersection of Main and King Streets recently.
Michael D. Logee, 32, of 21 King St., East Greenwich, allegedly crashed his BMW into the front of the East Greenwich Fire Departmentβs Engine 1 while taking a wide right turn from Main onto King Street at around 10:30 p.m. on July 31.
Police said that upon arrival, Logee smelled like alcohol and was βstaggering aroundβ the scene. He said he was coming from the store for his wife and βmy house is just down the street.β

Logee denied drinking, but failed a field sobriety test at the scene. When told that police believed that he was drunk, he said βare you serious? Iβm coming from the store,β according to a police report.
He was taken into custody and later registered a .27 blood alcohol reading during a preliminary breath test at police headquarters -- more than three times the legal limit. He refused to take another test after the first test, police said, and was charged with refusing a chemical test as well as driving under the influence.

He was later released with and is due to appear in court on Friday for arraignment.
