EG Man Charged for Stabbing Neighbor in Dispute over Loud TV

Both the suspect and the victim lived in the building at 279 Main St.

60-year-old David Sisti of Main Street is facing charges of felony assault with a dangerous weapon after stabbing another man after an argument about a loud TV.

East Greenwich Police Det. Lt. Jay Fague said Sisti was arraigned in District Court on Tuesday and bail was set at $20,000 with surety.

He is due to return to court for a felony screening on Aug. 24.

Fague said that the victim, a 54-year-old man is being treated at Rhode Island Hospital.

The incident began a little before 3 a.m. when the victim knocked on the door to Sisti’s room in the apartments at 279 Main St. to complain about the volume.

A short time later, Sisti knocked on the victim’s door and when he opened it, Sisti stabbed him twice -- once in the chest and once in the abdomen, Fague said.

East Greenwich police detectives continue to investigate.

Sisti was ordered not to have any contact with the victim as a condition of bail.
