
East Greenwich native Meghan Colitz has been bestowed with the highest honor given by the athletic department of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Colitz, who attended LaSalle Academy for high school and was graduated from RPI last year, was selected as the female Richard S. Lyon Career Athlete of the Year.
Colitz, a biomedical engineering major, played midfield on the Lacrosse team and served as captain in 2015, starting in all 14 games and leading the team with 27 goals and 11 assists for 38 points.

She also led the team in shots, with 64, and on goal, with 48.
Among her accomplishments on the field, Colitz was named Libert League Offensive Performer of the Week and earned spots on the All-Liberty League’s second and first teams.

She’s been a Team MVP and was also named Female Athlete of the Year last year by RPI’s athletic department.
