Welcome To East Greenwich Patch
My02818, your favorite local news Web site, is now East Greenwich Patch
Hi, and welcome to East Greenwich Patch. We're the new incarnation of My02818, which for the past almost two years has been providing local news for the people of the East Greenwich community.
If you're familiar with My02818, then you already know what East Greenwich Patch is going to provide for our town. While our name and our site design may have changed, our mission has not. If you're not already familiar with My02818, you can expect daily news coverage on your government, your schools, your neighbors and local events.
And, really, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Patch also offers users a daily calendar of everything that happens in our community; several ways to share your own ideas, photos and announcements; and a great community directory that encompasses all the important community institutions in town — from every playground to every business.

My02818 launched on March 4, 2009 and since then we've established ourselves as the go-to place for local news in East Greenwich. We also made a name for ourselves in the ever-growing field of hyperlocal news. In September, we decided to join forces with Patch, the biggest initiative ever for online local news. Patch runs sites like My02818 all over the country. There are more than 600 from California to New England and there will soon be as many as 15 here in Rhode Island.
We hope you enjoy East Greenwich Patch as much as you've enjoyed My02818. In fact, we hope you like it even more! If there is some way you think we can make it even better, please never hesitate to reach out to me at: Robert.Plain@Patch.com.
