EG Restaurant Week is just Days Away

Nearly 30 restaurants are participating.

If you’ve been waiting for a good reason to go out to eat at a restaurant in town, this is your reason:

East Greenwich Restaurant Week begins Sept. 19.

This year, nearly 30 restaurants are participating in the special showcase of some of the best of what the EG food scene has to offer. Based on the growing list of establishments on the East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce’s Web site, any occasion for eating out would be a good fit.

Feeling up for some diner food? Jigger’s Diner on Main Street is taking part. Seafood? There’s Greenwich Bay Oyster Bar. Asian? Kon. Classic American fare? When was the last time you followed the trail to Richard’s Pub? From pizza and pasta to froyo and coffee for dessert, the week-long food fest offers home cooks a tasty respite from the kitchen — and the restaurant community a post-summer economic boost.

The chamber cites figures from a Buy Local Utah study in 2013 that showed 69 cents of every dollar spent at a local independent restaurant stays in the local economy.
