EG Rotarians Donate Big to Kent Hospital Campaign

The first of several installments was delivered at a recent check ceremony.

The East Greenwich Rotary has donated $10,000 to Imperishable: The Campaign for Kent Hospital to help support the new ambulatory surgery pavilion and other important hospital programs.

So far, the campaign has raised $7.2 million.

The Rotary delivered the first installment of their donation at a recent check ceremony. The new state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center opened in the summer of 2013. It features eight surgical suites, 28 pre- and post-operative bays and already, 6,000 procedures have been performed there.

Recent improvements to the hospital have resulted in the distinction of being the first hospital in the state to eliminate the practice of ambulance diversion and sees about 70,000 patients a year.
