EGBA Fifth Grade Girls Win Cranston Tourney

This coming weekend, the EGBA hosts the second-annual MLK Jr. tournament — this year with 105 teams participating.


The fifth grade girls EGBA basketball travel team won the CLCF tournament this weekend in Cranston, beating Coventry 20-2 and South Kingstown 18-16 to get to the final against Cranston (CLCF). In that game, they won decisively, 36-8.

The East Greenwich Basketball Association hosts the second-annual MLK Jr. Weekend Tournament this weekend for both girls and boys ages 8 to 14.

Games will be played at EGHS, Cole Middle School and Rocky Hill School. Teams from Rhode Island and Massachusetts are playing — 105 teams signed up (up from 85 last year). That comes out to 1,200 players.
