EGBA MLK Tourney Girls, Boys 13s Finals

In final finals of the 4-day tournament, EG girls lost to Coventry while EG boys beat CLCF.

In a sweet victory for the home team, the East Greenwich 13-year-old boys beat CLCF, 47-44 in the the final championship game of East Greenwich Basketball Association’s 4-day-long MLK Jr. Tournament.

The steady nerves of EG’s Brian Gemma at the free throw line the made the difference. He went 4 for 4 in the final minute of the game, keeping EG just enough ahead of the surging CLCF to clinch the victory.

Yes, he was nervous, Gemma confirmed after the game, which was played at Cole Middle School. “I don’t know, I was just happy we pulled out a win,” he said.
