EGHS Lacrosse Team Boasts Most Wins In Rhode Island

Avengers Boys have 11 wins this season.

The EGHS Boy’s Varsity Lacrosse team continued to dominate last week week with a 19:1 win against Lincoln on Tuesday, followed by an 11:0 win against Middletown on Thursday.  At this point the Avengers lead Division II South with a 10:0 division record and an overall 11:1 record.  LaSalle leads the Division I standings with a 7 wins & a 5:0 Division I record, while Smithfield has 10 wins and leads Division III with a 10-0 record.

In recapping the week, Captain Kyle Carosotto noted that Lincoln had trouble keeping pace with the Avenger’s quick offense.  Middletown provided more of a challenge later in the week, “but our defense definitely shut down a lot of their key players” said Carosotto.  “We had a lot more communication … less unforced errors, and an overall improvement in the way we played our game.”  Carosotto looks to next week as one of the toughest of the season, where the team plays Prout & South Kingstown.  “We are definitely going to practice hard for these upcoming games.”

The Varsity team plays Prout at home this Tuesday (5/8) at 6:30 pm (JV plays at 4pm).  Senior night activities start at 5:45 pm on Carcieri Field.  The Avengers travel to South Kingstown on Thursday (5/10) for a 7 pm game.  The last regular season game is scheduled for Monday May 14th at Mount Hope at 4pm (JV follows @ 6pm).
