EGHS Wall of Honor Announces Class of 2016
They include two longtime educators, a TV and movie set maker, a wrestler and coach and a scientist.

The East Greenwich High School Wall of Honor’s class of 2016 has been chosen.
They are:
Jane Solomon Kondon graduated from East Greenwich High School in 1963. While at EGHS she was a Rhode Island and National Honor Society winner and at the University of Rhode Island she was on the Dean’s List. She later got her masters in teaching from Boston College.

She started off teaching in Rhode Island and Massachusetts before becoming an award winning Principal at Davisville Middle School in North Kingstown.
Anthony Faber received a PhD. in Cancer Biology. After graduating EGHS he attended URI graduating in the Biological Sciences. He received an M.A. from Boston University in Biology and a PHD from Boston College in Cancer Biology.

Currently he works at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
Besides teaching experience he has won several honors and has had articles published in 22 professional magazines and publications.
The late Scott Viera is an EGHS grad and played football and wrestled for the Avengers. He competed in AAU Free Style and Greco Roman styles and won RI titles in both disciplines.
At Rhode Island College he was an All New England wrestler. He also competed in 1988 Northeast Olympic Trials.
He then coached at the high school and college levels for 20 years. He was well known in local, regional and national wrestling circles and is in the state Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Unfortunately Scott died unexpectedly from cancer in 2008.
Jim Halsband graduated from EGHS in 1970 and attended the Community College of Rhode Island where he studied film literature. In 1973 he was President of Tempo Designs Inc., manufacturers of fashion jewelry and accessories.
In 1988 he moved to California and worked for Scenery West and then later, Scenic Highlights. He was the Construction Coordinator and lead construction crew on over 200 production events for film, television, theater and stage productions plus visual merchandising fixtures for retail venues.
He did work for Warner Brothers,Universal Studios, Sean Penn Indie Films, Fox Studios, ABC, CBS and NBC.
Bruce Mastracchio has been an integral part of the East Greenwich community for some time. An outstanding athlete, United States Marine, Hall of Fame Football Coach, outstanding volunteer, teacher, activist and author are but a sampling of what he can put on a resume. Bruce has also played a key role in helping to establish the local Wall of Honor and East Greenwich Athletic Hall of Fame.
