Dodgers 7, Orioles 4  The Dodgers defeated the Orioles 7-4 in game 10 of the EGLL playoff series. The Dodgers were led by strong pitching from Dawson Leonard and Patrick Petteruti. Both combined to pitch a two-hitter, with Leonard pitching the first four innings and Petteruti closing out the last two.

The Dodgers offense exploded with 11 hits, led by Chris Wright, who had 4 RBIs, including a 3-run homer in the third inning. Corey Gavin, Petteruti, and Wright had hits and scored 6 of the Dodger runs, and Matt Walsh scored the 7th. Harrison Leonard also had two hits and an RBI, and Kevin Daley had a double in the 3rd inning.

RJ Mathieu pitched four innings for the Orioles, and Noah Anderson and Drew Younkin came in for relief. Sam Sperduti had both Oriole hits, a two-run homer in the first inning, and a double in the third inning.

Dodgers 8, Yankees 5  The Dodgers kept their season alive and continued their improbable playoff march as they defeated the Yankees 8-5 in game 11 of the EGLL playoff series at Cragan Field on Friday. The Dodgers were led by strong pitching from Joe Murray, Patrick Petteruti, and Corey Gavin.

The Dodgers' offense pounded out 9 hits, led by Chris Wright, who had 5 RBIs, including a dramatic grand-slam home run with 2 outs and an 0-2 count in the top of the 6th inning. Prior to Wright, Petteruti had to work a 3-2 count with two outs to draw the walk that enabled Wright to bat. In addition to Wright, Gavin, Petteruti, Dawson Leonard, Harrison Leonard, Jacob Goretoy, and Jack Delfino all had hits.  Gavin, Petteruti, Wright, Alex Stern, and Delfino all scored for the Dodgers.

Meran Topalian, Spencer Alkins, and Ryan Caffrey all pitched for the Yankees.  Ryan Caffrey had a triple and a double and scored 2 of the Yankee 5 runs.

The victory moved the Dodgers, who finished the regular season in last place, into the championship series, where they must win two games, while avoiding a loss, against the Phillies. The two teams will clash on Sunday at 5pm at Cragan.  A  Phillies victory would clinch their third consecutive EGLL crown. Meanwhile, if the Dodgers win on Sunday, the two teams will play again on Monday at 6pm for the title.
