EVENT OF THE DAY: Volunteer at Boesch Farm

The East Greenwich Land Trust will host the Rhode Island Natural History Survey's "Crew in Your Community: Youth Conservation League Stewardship & Service Day" today at the Boesch Farm, 830 South Road.  Beginning at 8:30 a.m., six high school volunteers and two crew leaders will attack non-native and invasive plants at the Farm, starting with the boundary stone walls along South Road. Land Trust members will also be participating, and the community is invited to attend.

To participate, arrive at Boesch Farm at 830 South Road after 8:30 a.m. Crews will work until 4:30 p.m.  Wear clothing that will protect you from sun exposure, ticks, and poison ivy and thorny plants.  Gloves will be needed.  The Land Trust and Crew will have some tools available, but participants are invited to bring their own loppers and hand tools as well.
