Updated: Fatal Crash on I-95 Thursday Morning
According to Rhode Island State Police, a 25-year-old Massachusetts man died in a rollover on I-95 near Exit 8.

EAST GREENWICH, RI — One person was killed this morning in a rollover accident on Interstate 95, near exit 8, according to Rhode Island State Police.
Patrick Sullivan, 25, of Scituate, Mass., died after his car crashed into the median on the southbound lane of Interstate 95. He was partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rhode Island State Police Capt. Matthew Moynihan said the accident occurred at 3:54 a.m. when Sullivan apparently lost control of his car. It went off the left shoulder of the road, struck the median and flipped over.

It did not appear that he was wearing a seat belt, Capt. Moynihan said.
Both lanes of the highway were closed after the accident, though traffic was allowed to pass via the breakdown lane, Moynihan said. All lanes were reopened by 7 a.m.

The accident was investigated by troopers from the Hope Valley and Wickford barracks, as members of the Forensic Services Unit and the Collision Reconstruction Unit of the state police. The East Greenwich Fire and Rescue Department also responded to the scene.
