Greenwich Gators Earn 2nd Place At Rainy All Pool
It was close, but the Gators fell to host club Kendbrin 1,909 to 2,089.
It turned out that everyone - winners and losers - ended up all wet at this year's All Pool meet. Saturday was lovely and dry but Sunday brought nothing but rain and more rain.
The Greenwich Club took second place with 1,909 points. Kendbrin Swim and Tennis Club came in first with 2,089 points. The Greenwich Club came in first last year.
"Let's just say that the rain made things a little more interesting," said head Gator coach Amanda Dyl. "It did not let up the entire day (7-3) but we still had lots of great swims and parents and swimmers alike were great sports. Hopefully that's the last rainy All Pool for a while!"

"I think we are still wet!" wrote Scott Moran in an email two days after the event. Moran's daughter Katie is on the team.
"At the beginning of this season her best stroke was backstroke," Moran wrote, "but she has learned so much from the coaches that she was able to take second place overall in the All Pool Meet in breast stroke just behind her friend and teammate Grace MacDonald."
