The Avengers suffered their worst defeat of the season, losing on the road to Classical 37-0.
The offense ran hard behind Carney Crawford and Alex Cleary, but found few holes all night. Andrew and Dan Minor completed passes to the receivers and backs, including John Macnee and Kyle Palmer, but a strong pass rush from Classical ultimately killed the East Greenwich drives.
The defense, anchored in the middle by linebackers Eric Lauro and Brendan Higgins, and on the outside with Cam Rocke and Jason Light, played tough all night and never gave up. However, the Classical offense kept East Greenwich off balance with sustained drives and big plays throughout the night.

Overall, it was a frustrating outing in all phases of the game for the Avengers and should create a sense of urgency in preparation for the remainder of the season.
East Greenwich plays North Kingstown next Friday under the lights at Nick Carcieri Field at 7 p.m. There will be a tailgate fundraiser before the game to benefit the Junior Class.
