In Sandy Hook, The Healing Continues

Grace returns to Newtown...

Grace returns to Newtown...

This is what it's all about. EG nonprofit Tails To Teach was invited to bring our therapy dog Grace back to Newtown, CT to receive a big THANK YOU from a grateful community. It made me happy to see many of the same people we met during those dark days back in December, now smiling as they made a beeline for Grace to give her a hug or belly rub. The kids are now collecting dog "trading cards" like baseball cards - because these gentle canine souls are their true heroes.
What makes these kinds of interactions even more poignant? Grace is a rescue dog herself, having been found as a stray in Providence in 2009.
Many parents told me that the dogs were the ONLY thing that brought their scared and grieving children - and themselves - any comfort. Glad we could be a small part of that ministry. — in Newtown, CT.
Turn to 10 did a nice follow-up story about Tails To Teach in Newtown on 6/23.
