Grace returns to Newtown...
This is what it's all about. EG nonprofit Tails To Teach was invited to bring our therapy dog Grace back to Newtown, CT to receive a big THANK YOU from a grateful community. It made me happy to see many of the same people we met during those dark days back in December, now smiling as they made a beeline for Grace to give her a hug or belly rub. The kids are now collecting dog "trading cards" like baseball cards - because these gentle canine souls are their true heroes.What makes these kinds of interactions even more poignant? Grace is a rescue dog herself, having been found as a stray in Providence in 2009.
Many parents told me that the dogs were the ONLY thing that brought their scared and grieving children - and themselves - any comfort. Glad we could be a small part of that ministry. — in Newtown, CT.
