EG Main Street Stabbing Victim Taken to Rhode Island Hospital

A man was stabbed twice around 2:30 Friday morning during an argument outside Fat Belly's Pub, the fire department said.

EAST GREENWICH, RI—A man was stabbed once in the right lower back and once in the buttocks during an argument outside Fat Belly's Pub on Main Street early Friday morning. According to fire Chief Russell McGillivray, the patient was conscious and alert. The chief did not want to speculate on the severity of injuries. The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

Police Det. Lt. Jeremy A. Fague said police responded around 1:05 a.m. A 28-year-old man was the victim. He is currently being treated at Rhode Island Hospital.

"At this time the investigation is continuing and the identification of the victim or possible suspect will not be disclosed," police said.
