New Consignment Shop Planned for Former Karma Couture Space

An application has been filed for a new secondhand dealer's license for 591 Main St.

There could be a new consignment shop coming to Main Street in the space formerly occupied by Karma Couture, which shuttered abruptly in May leaving scores of customers bilked out of money and consigned goods.

The East Greenwich Town Council on Monday was set to review an application by Trisha and Fallon Tortolani for a new second hand dealer license to open what they’ve named “Her Kloset.”

The new store would be located at 591 Main St. and both Trisha and Fallon listed home addresses in East Greenwich.

Fallon Tortolani did not immediately return a phone call requesting more information about their plans.

Tortolani has worked as a fashion model and was a contestant in the Miss Rhode Island pageant in 2008.

Shortly after Karma Couture abruptly closed its storefront, police soon started getting complaints from former customers who say they’ve been cheated out of money and designer clothes.

The state Attorney General’s office was reportedly investigating the complaints.
