Donald E. Marcum, 77, died Thursday June 25, 2015 of Squamous Cell Cancer.

Donald E. Marcum, 77, died Thursday June 25, 2015 of Squamous Cell Cancer. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Margaret B. (McDonough) Marcum.

After retiring from Starkweather & Shepley, Don a member of the Varnum Memorial Armory for years became the volunteer curator of the Armory’s artifacts. He was a proud member of Battery B 1st RI Light Artillery and loved reenacting and keeping history alive.

He enjoyed sailing on the bay on the Margaret B. He was an excellent painter of military figures, and model ship building. He served in Vietnam in the USMC as a Captain - SEMPER FI.

Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Gregory Michael Marcum, a sister Pamela Sue Look and her husband Steve, sister -”in - laws, Mary Ann McDonough and Sister Therese McDonough, M.M.M., brother - in - laws, Martin and Michael McDonough and his dear friend Pierre Querrin. He was the brother -in-law of the late Ellen McDonough.

The family expresses thank you to Home & Hospice Care of RI, for the kind and skilled care they gave.

A memorial service will be celebrated Monday June 29th at 11:00 am at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., E. Greenwich. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, National Processing Center, PO Box 758541, Topeka, KS 66675-8541.
