Obituary: F. Gavin Fitzgerald, 75, Former Owner of Shenanigans in East Greenwich

F. Gavin Fitzgerald, 75, of West Warwick, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015.

F. Gavin Fitzgerald, 75, of West Warwick, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015. He was the loving husband of Carolyn M. (Egan) Fitzgerald. They were married for 42 years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late John J. and Miriam A. (Gavin) Fitzgerald.

Gavin was the owner of Shenanigans and also worked at the Rhode Island Division of Taxation. He was a graduate of Bryant University. He was a resident of Pawtucket for 34 years; after their marriage, Carolyn and Gavin moved to Jamestown where their children were born and raised; moving to West Warwick where they lived for the past 10 years.

He loved Baseball and was actively involved with youth baseball leagues. Gavin was the state commissioner for Rhode Island Babe Ruth Baseball. Mr. Fitzgerald was a member of the Ireland 32 Society and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mark Council # 9197.

Besides his wife, he leaves his two children, John J. Fitzgerald and his wife, Meg Taylor, of Marion, MA and Charlotte E. Fitzgerald, of San Diego, CA; two grandchildren, MaKayla and Loghan; siblings, John Fitzgerald, Claire Sweet, Brian Fitzgerald, Miriam Leveille, and Dennis Fitzgerald; and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, in Saint Mary Church, 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours will be onTuesday, May 12, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the Jimmy Fund, Dana -Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
