Lucia P. Asprinio, 89, of East Greenwich, passed away January 18, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

Lucia P. Asprinio, 89, of East Greenwich, passed away January 18, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of the late C. Thomas Asprinio. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Marie (DeRensis) DeBerardis.
Mrs. Asprinio was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church and a former member of Quindnessett Country Club. She was the creator and inspiration for Rhode Island Rocks Candy. Her passion for cooking continues to carry on with her children and grandchildren, both on a personal as well as professional level. Lucia’s meatball recipe is her lasting legacy to family and friends alike.

She is survived by her children, Tom and his wife Nancy (Lisi), Billy, Fred and his wife Kim (Meyers), Eddy and Lucia Ann Asprinio; grandchildren, Stephen, Dominic, Sarah, Caitlin, Tommy, Emma and Ian; great grandchildren, Shane, Ari and Chana; a sister, Florence Russolino and a brother Tony DeBerardis.
She was the sister of the late Dorothy Moretti. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 23rd at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours: Thursday, January 22nd 5-8pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
