Obituary: M. Christine Gosselin, 88, Pharmacist

In 1953, she became the first woman faculty member at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy.


M. Christine Gosselin, 88, of East Greenwich and formerly a long-time resident of Wellesley, Mass., passed away on Feb. 15. 

Chris was the cherished wife of the late Raymond A. Gosselin. Born in Worcester, Mass., she was the daughter of the later John and Mary Maloney and sister of the late Jack Maloney. She was the beloved mother of three children, Jack Gosselin (and wife Stephanie) of North Stonington, Conn., Tina Egan (and husband Dave) of East Greenwich, and Paul Gosselin (and wife Anne-Marie Cassier) of Paris, France. She was the loving grandmother of Ian Gosselin, Alex Gosselin, Garth Egan, Laird Egan and Tessa Egan.

Chris earned her BS and MS degrees from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and in 1953 became the first woman faculty member at the College.  She established a successful pharmaceutical marketing business with her husband and served in leadership positions with state and national pharmaceutical associations. Chris was a devoted communicant at St. James the Great and St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Wellesley and an avid bridge player for many years.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church, 502 Washington St., Wellesley, Mass. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery. 
Donations may be made to the Raymond A. and M. Christine Gosselin Scholarship Fund, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 179 Longwood Ave., Boston, Mass.
