Obituary: Millard J. "Josh" Thompson

Millard J. "Josh" Thompson died Feb. 3 of cancer at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. He was 56.

A 1973 graduate of East Greenwich High School, Josh had lived in East Greenwich for nearly all of the past 46 years. He attended New England Tech and worked for Amtrol and Electric Boat. He was an avid guitarist and football fan.

The son of the late Millard and Theresa Thompson, he was born in New Haven, Conn., on Feb. 26, 1955. He is survived by son Matthew Rhone, and Matthew's mother, Mary Rhone, both of East Greenwich. He also is survived by siblings Amy, of Meriden, Conn., Bill, of Portland, Conn., Bob, of East Greenwich, and Mark, of Kensington, Md.

A memorial service is planned at the Hill Funeral Home in East Greenwich at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11.
