William Francis Cranley, 88, of East Greenwich, passed away July 14, 2015 in Coventry, RI.

William Francis Cranley, 88, of East Greenwich, passed away July 14, 2015 in Coventry, RI.

He was born in Medford, MA to the late John and Agnes (Bender) Cranley, on November 22, 1926.

He went to high school in Medford, MA and graduated from Boston College in 1950. William worked in his family’s music business, Willis Music Company and operated his own music store, Cranley’s Music. He was a member of the American Legion and the Irish American Club in Malden, MA. He enjoyed boating, golf, football and the outdoors.

He is survived by his children, Laura Tingley and her husband Otto, of North Kingstown, RI, Susan Mitrano and her husband Michael of Manchester, MA, William Cranley of Merrimack, MA, and Donald Cranley of Melrose, MA; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Jack, Edward, Mae and Alice.

His funeral service will be Friday at 11:00AM at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours: Thursday 6-8PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
