Obituary: William L. "Bud" Erickson, 91
A WWII veteran with the U.S. Marine Corps, Bud is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, and eight grandchildren.

William L. "Bud" Erickson, 91, passed away on Friday, March 29, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Linda E. (Magnuson) Erickson of East Greenwich. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late John Oscar and Elin L. (Lind) Erickson.
He moved to Cranston when he was 3 years old upon the death of his father. He met Linda while they were both congregants of Calvary Covenant Church, where they were married and faithfully worshiped for over 40 years until its closure. Since that time they have been devoted members of Christ Church of East Greenwich.
Bud was a WWII veteran with the U.S. Marine Corps and installer and repairman for New England Telephone. After retiring, he drove for Enterprise Rent-a-Car for many years. He was also a member of Gideons International.

Besides his wife Linda, he is survived by two daughters: Kristen E. Conforti of Saunderstown and her husband, Paul; and Kimberly R. Stinnette of Cranston and her husband, Oliver. He was morfar of eight: Will, Kate, Drew and Grace Conforti; and Abby, Ella, Lila and Jannik Stinnette. He was brother of the late John and Robert Erickson.
A funeral service will be held at Christ Church, 1025 Main Street, on Wednesday, April 3, at 10 a.m. followed with interment at R.I. Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Christ Church or Home & Hospice Care of R.I., 1085 North Main St., Providence, R.I. 02904.
