One in Custody after Main Street Stabbing

East Greenwich Police are investigating an overnight stabbing on Main Street Monday night that sent one person to Rhode Island Hospital.

Main Street was closed of for a period of time as police worked at the crime scene.

Police said that the stabbing occurred after an argument over a TV’s volume.

Police said a 54-year-old man went to the house of a 60-year-old man and asked for the volume to be turned down.

Later, the 60-year-old went to the victims house with a kitchen knife and stabbed him twice -- once each in the chest and abdomen.

The victim’s condition is not known.

Police have not released the identities of the victim or alleged assailant.
