Police Investigating Shippeetown Road Break-In

A pillowcase, two watches and a 2004 Providence College class ring were stolen from a Shippetown Road house on the afternoon of July 14 after a suspect smashed a kitchen window to get inside.

The resident reported the crime after returning home at around 6:20 p.m. to find the window smashed and a wooden bar to secure a rear glass sliding door disturbed.

Inside the house, the suspect stole two fake Rolex watches from the top of a dresser and rummaged through several drawers. The watches were not of significant value, police said, and valued at about $300 each. 

Also stolen was a Union Station Brewery glass containing some change, the class ring valued at $300 and the light brown pillowcase that was apparently used to gather the items. 

Police canvassed the area and spoke with a neighbor who said she saw a black SUV with Rhode Island plates parked in front of the house at around 2:20 p.m., about 3 hours after the victim reportedly left his house.
