Psst: Almost Time to Register for East Greenwich Fall Recreation Programs
Sorry to interrupt your summer, but August is speeding along and fall registration is around the corner.

EAST GREENWICH, RI—Just because summer is coming to an end does not mean that the summer fun needs to! Check out what the East Greenwich Parks and Recreation Department is offering this fall, there is something for everyone!
Registration for the fall programs will begin August 26 at 8:45 a.m. The Department has been offering online registration for East Greenwich residents. If you haven’t set up your online account, pre-approved account applications are available in the office. Find all the information you need in the fall flyer or online at www.eastgreenwichri.com. Be sure to get all registrations and online account forms in ahead of time, as classes do fill quickly!
Activities this fall include youth programs, community events, adult and senior programs, and the popular pick-up athletic nights, with many more options that have been added! Most programs will begin the week of September 6th.

Keeping children active during the fall can be easy with the return of many popular programs. Come try newly developed programs being offered in partnership with the Aim High Academy such as, Parent Child Fitness, where children and parents can learn conditioning and strength exercises, or come show your Olympic spirit in Gym and Learn, where education and gymnastics is fused together for a truly unique experience. Be sure to take a look in the flyer for additional classes, including the new Pokémon™ Go in the Park! Participants will explore different parks and facilities throughout East Greenwich, while stopping at Pokéstops and Gyms on the town bus along the way. Youth programs are taught by instructors who provide the knowledge of many years of experience working with children, and look to foster a safe learning environment for participants. Other youth offerings that are being offered this fall include Squeaky Sneakers, All Sports, and Youth Tennis Lessons; where children will find it fun to be active! Youth Arts programs include What’s Out There?, Ocean Explorers, Drama Games, 10- Minute Plays, Messy Crafts, Family Music Time, EG Babysitters Class and My First Stiches- Kids Can Sew class. Who knew learning could be so much fun?!
Looking for a new way to celebrate you child(ren)s birthday? How about partying with the Parks and Recreation Department? The department offers three different party themes that are affordable and sure to please any child! Parties are held close to home at the Swift Gym. Packages include 3 hours which include ½ hour for set up, 1 hour for an activity with the party facilitator, 1 hour for refreshments and presents, as well as a ½ hour for break down! A minimum of two weeks is required to ensure gym/party facilitator availability!

Many Adult/ Senior classes are being offered this fall by the department. Come learn the skills that could help save a life in the CPR & AED and First Aid courses. This course will certify new participants and re-certify current card holders. Adults/Seniors looking to enjoy the last few nice weeks of the year are encouraged to try Adult Tennis Lessons or the Ramblers-Hiking Group, where new locations are explored each week! Adults/Seniors interested in getting into shape or remain in shape can sign up for Body Conditioning, Define Yourself, Zumba, Yoga, and Stretch & Relax, Pilates and the new 30/15 Fitness. With flexible schedules, those interested are certain to find a class that can fit into any schedule.
Many new athletic pick-up nights have been added just for Adults including Pick Up Basketball, Co-Ed Pick-Up Volleyball, Pick Up Soccer, Pick Up Badminton, Co-Ed Pick Up Pickleball, and new this fall Men’s Flag Football. Those interested need to sign up in advance. Different teams will be formed each week.
Community trips this fall include Sail Newport, where the group will be exploring the picturesque Narragansett Bay on J22 boats captained by experienced sailors. When the group visits Adams National Park they will receive a tour of John Adams and John Quincy Adams’ birthplaces and learn all about the 2nd and 6th presidents of the United States. The New York City Trip will transport participants right into the heart of Manhattan where the possibilities are endless!
Do some holiday shopping, catch a Broadway matinee, or just stroll along and take in the sights and sounds in the city that doesn’t sleep! Each trip offers easy accessibility to some locations that can be quite a hassle to get to! Come enjoy the beauty of each location as transportation and admission is included for a nominal fee. All trips depart from the Frenchtown Park parking lot. Come hop on the bus and we’ll do the rest!
