Running For Office? Nope – Getting Hitched

Last Wednesday afternoon, I was waiting outside the Town Clerk's office to see who might come in to file candidacy papers before the 4 p.m. deadline. I'd met one man dropping off papers to run for School Committee and saw a couple of familiar faces dropping off their papers to be on the ballot for the Republican Town Committee.

So, when a man and a woman came into Town Hall and turned into the Town Clerk's office, I followed. One of them was probably running – maybe both!

They were at the counter and I asked, "Are you running for office?"

The laughed.

Ron Arpin and Shauna Fontaine were there getting a marriage license! So, I did what I do: I took their picture and got their names.
