Spaces Still Available for Fall Recreation Programs

Learn First Aid, CPR -- or go on a lighthouse tour! Spots are running out.

If you’ve been on the fence about signing up for a fall program or trip organized by the East Greenwich Parks and Recreation Department, now is the time to hop off and get signed up.

Spaces are still available, but limited, the department said in a release.

Ever wonder what it would take to poses the skills needed to help someone in a dire situation? It’s easy! Sign up for the First Aid, CPR & AED classes on October 1st and 8th starting at 6pm. All participants will become American Heart Association certified and those looking to re-certify, these courses will fulfill the requirements. Classes can be signed up for individually.

Come draft, design and build with thousands of LEGO® in Engineering 101 on Thursdays at 4pm. Youths in grades 3-5 will be challenged by an experienced Play- Well instructor, guiding them to apply real world knowledge in physics and engineering. Children will find themselves learning while having fun!

This fall Broadway meets East Greenwich for Ten Minute Plays on Wednesdays at 4pm. Youth ages 7-12 will have the opportunity to become many different characters during the mini plays. Each play will be selected based on the number and age of the participants and friends and family at welcomed to see the final showcase!

The Parks and Recreation Department will also be offering local trips for $5! A tour of the Beavertail Lighthouse and Museum takes place on October 7th. Following the tour explore the beautiful coastline in Jamestown taking in picturesque views of the Atlantic and end the day with a relaxing picnic. A trip to Manning Hall at Brown University will take place on November 4th to view a collection from the Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology. The trip fee includes admission and transportation.
