State Police ID Woman Killed In Exeter Crash

State police have identified the 41-year-old woman killed in a crash in Exeter.

WEST GREENWICH, RI — State police have identified the 41-year-old woman killed in a crash in Exeter. She is Nilda Hernandez, of West Greenwich. She died after her Volkswagen went off the road and crashed into a tree on Route 165. A passing motorist saw her car in the tree line and reported the accident at 9:50 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

But state police do not know when the accident happened. They are asking for the public's help. Anyone who may have witnessed this motor vehicle crash is asked to please contact State Police Hope Valley Barracks at (401) 444-1068.

Rhode Island State Police Lieutenant Jay Gibbs said drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been a factor in the crash at this time. The driver was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
