Strange Notes, Stolen Lawn Mowers, and Crank Calls

Monday, June 27

10:20 a.m. - A resident reported that his wallet had been stolen with a military identification inside of it. 

12:24 p.m. - A woman reported that she had found a note on her windshield from a strange man after she finished shopping  at 1000 Division St. Another witness had brought the note to her attention and told her that the man had been older. Police contacted the number on the note and reached the voicemail of someone with a name other than that of who had signed the note. Police left a message advising the person to should not attempt to make any further contact. 

Tuesday, June 28

2:08 p.m. - A woman reported that her husbands handicap placard had been either lost or stolen. She wanted the incident documented so that they could get a replacement. 

11:30 p.m. - A resident reported that his lamp post had been take out of the ground and dragged approximately 10’ across his grass. The lamp post did not appear damaged. He stated that he heard screeching tires earlier and shortly after he heard voices in the yard and then a loud metallic band. He looked outside and saw a male next to a large vehicle in front of his house. He noticed that his neighbor’s mailbox had been broken. After police drove through the surrounding neighborhoods and found that a total of four mailboxes had been damaged. 

Wednesday, June 29

9:03 a.m. - A worker reported that a jobsite radio/charger had been stolen from their work site. The radio is valued at $300. 

3:29 p.m. - A worker from a local store reported that he had been receiving crank phone calls to the phone at the store. Police advised him to hang up immediately if he knew it was a crank caller. 

Thursday, June 30

12:08 p.m. - A women reported that her iPhone had either been stolen or lost. It was valued at $550. 

Friday July 1

8:38 a.m. - Someone reported that there were two cats living in a vehicle in a nearby parking lot. When police arrived, they found that the cats had food, water, and litter box inside the car with them and the windows were down about 5”. When the police contacted the owner of the car, she stated that she was staying with her son in an apartment but would be finding permanent housing soon. Police advised her that the weather would be getting warmer and they would need to be in a cooler environment soon. 

11:16 a.m. - A employee stated that three hanging plants had been taken from the premises without payment but that he got the license number of the vehicle that he saw drive away without paying. 

12:30 p.m. - A resident reported that he had some items missing from his shed, yard, and house. The items reported missing were a lawn mower, a car battery, a bicycle, and some video games and blue-ray movies. He said that the house is usually unlocked because someone is always there. 

2:33 p.m. - A resident reported that someone other than himself had charged $203.51 to his Visa to purchase LA Lakers tickets. He disputed the charges with Capital One and asked that the incident be documented for future credit issues. 

Sunday, July 3

2:31 p.m. - A resident reported that his unlocked vehicle had been “ransacked” while in his driveway. The items taken from his vehicle included an EZ pass, a GPS unit, eye glasses, and sunglasses.
