Town Council To Vote On $3.35 Million Meadowbrook Fix
Studies, presentations, discussions by school officials, than more studies, more presentations, more discussion before the plan reached this final vote
After almost a year of review by various committees, a $3.35 million fix for moisture problems at Meadowbrook Farms will finally come up for a vote by the Town Council Monday. If the Council approves the project, it will have passed its final hurdle.
When voters passed the $52 million bond referendum in 2008, $1 million was set aside for solving moisture problems that have plagued Meadowbrook since it was opened.
On the advice of construction specialists, however, the School Committee undertook a year-long study of the moisture issues at Meadowbrook before embarking on a plan to alleviate them.

If approved, the plan would require that the floor be replaced, as well as other fixes. One question that remains is how the work would be completed: over a couple of summers, without students, or in sections during the school year.
The Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
