Woof! Dogs On Main Stroll is Next Week (June 25)

Last year's "Dogs on Main" stroll in East Greenwich was a success.

Main Street in East Greenwich will be filled with pooches next Thursday, June 25.

That’s because it’s the annual “Dogs on Main” stroll, beginning at 5 p.m. A dog parade will commence at around 6 p.m.

Last year, scores of dogs and their owners filled the streets to mingle, nibble and sniff up and down the historic stretch of shops, salons, eating establishments and offices along East Greenwich’s bustling business row.

Paraders are asked to stop by 500 Main Street in front of Back to Basics for a barbecue sponsored by Hill and Harbour Veterinary Center. Perfect Pooch will have free pet photography going on at a station, so be sure your little muffy or rover is dolled up.

The parade leaves Back to Basics and will head north on Main Street, ending at Town Hall.

The best dressed dogs — and dog owners — will be in the running for some prizes.

The event is also a chance for people, even those without furry friends, to come and see what Main Street has to offer. Most businesses will have things to check out on the sidewalk. Special sales, menu items and deals are also to be offered.

So grab your leash, your wallet and your best costume and head on down. And don’t forget to bring your pooper scooper!
