arrested Diane L. Shaw, 35, of Providence, on Tuesday night on charges of larceny. However, the situation is more complicated than the description of the charge.

Shaw was arrested for stealing Valium from an apartment for which she had easy access. William Andrews, 42, of 550 Taunton Avenue, Apt. 23A, told police he wanted to test Shaw's trustworthiness and therefore asked a mutual acquaintance, Melissa Ayotte, 30, of 55 State Street in Warren, to let Shaw into his apartment. Andrews wanted to test if Shaw would steal anything from him.
