Alberta (Arago) Butler, 70

She worked as a social worker under her retirement.

Alberta (Arago) Butler, of East Providence, died Jan. 20, 2013, in the arms of her daughter. She was 70.

She was the former spouse of Donald A. Arago Sr. Born in East Providence, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Celia (Costa) Verissimo.

She is survived by her daughter Elise Gama-Falvo and her husband Anthony of Riverside; her grandson Michael Gama IV, a granddaughter Nicole M. Arago and a great-grandson Christian. She is the sister of Elaine L. Torti of East Providence. Alberta also leaves her beloved companion Donald L. Pimentel.

She was the mother of the late Donald A. Arago Jr. and sister of the late Robert A. Verissimo.

She received her BSW and worked as a social worker until her retirement.

Her funeral will begin on Thursday at 8 am from the Rebello Funeral Home, 901 Broadway, East Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9 am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 N. Carpenter St., East Providence.

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Calling hours will be today, Jan. 23, 5 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be given to the charity of your choice.
