EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — An East Providence man wanted in connection with an early morning break-in at Riverside Market was apprehended in Massachusetts, police said.
Jeffrey Willis, 63, was arrested by the Seekonk, Massachusetts, police within 12 hours of the 4:30 a.m. May 20 burglary at the Bullocks Point Avenue convenience store, the East Providence Police Department said in a social media post.
Willis was tracked down to a Seekonk hotel parking lot where he was spotted smashing the window of a parked vehicle and immediately arrested, according to the post.
"Willis was charged by the Seekonk Police Department with Vandalism and Fugitive From Justice charges," the post said.
"He will also face charges in East Providence for Breaking and Entering into a Business and will await extradition back to Rhode Island," according to the post. "He has an extensive criminal record dating back 40 years."
