The Friends of the East Providence Public Library will participate in The Nation’s Block Party sponsored by the library on the grounds of Weaver Library, 41 Grove Avenue, East Providence. The Block Party will be held on Wednesday, July 1 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
To encourage summer reading and to thank the community for their continuing support of their semi-annual book sales and Never-Ending Book Sales, members of the Friends will offer a variety of books, DVDs and jig saw puzzles – ALL FOR FREE. Adult selections feature novels and non-fiction books, including a selection of inspirational books and summer-themed cookbooks. Paperback fiction and romance are also offered. For jig saw puzzle enthusiasts, there are dozens of puzzles, ranging from 300 to 1000 pieces. Children’s books for all ages will be featured, including board books, picture books, activity books, early readers, chapter books and young adult books. All are available at no charge. Bags will be available for you to take home your selections.
Everyone is invited to participate in the FREE DRAWING for adults and children. Lucky winners in the drawing will take home prizes for summer activities and treats, including gift cards to local restaurants and ice cream shops. Prizes must be picked up at the event or at Weaver Library by Wednesday, July 8.
