With rough seas and strong winds expected, they scrambled this week to relocate their ceremony and reception to Charlestown, leaning on friends, vendors, and generous venue owners to keep the celebration alive.
3. RISP Warwick Arrests Sept. 10-20: Hit & Run, DUI (warwickpost.com) — A recent Rhode Island State Police log includes a Warwick traffic stop that led to the arrest of a man wanted on a bench warrant stemming from an East Providence Police driving-with-suspended-license case. The roundup also details separate arrests for DUI, hit-and-run, domestic simple assault, and multiple failure-to-appear warrants, giving residents a snapshot of recent enforcement activity on local highways.
4. Silver Replica of Ground Zero Cross Given to 9/11 Families (jckonline.com) — An East Providence jewelry maker, Carla Corp., played a key role in crafting sterling silver replicas of the Ground Zero cross that were gifted to 650 9/11 families at a Jersey City banquet. Working from designer Robert Manse's model, the company used 3D printing, special finishes, and even tiny pieces of World Trade Center steel to create authentic-looking crosses, donating their labor to honor victims and first responders.
