• Man sentenced for scamming elderly dementia patient out of $126K (wpri.com) — An East Providence man has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for stealing more than $126,000 from an elderly dementia patient whose bank account he managed. Prosecutors say he repeatedly accessed the victim's funds, moved money into his wife's account, and fabricated a real estate contract before Santander's fraud team and Seekonk police uncovered the scheme.
